Which size should I choose?
Ulysses running shoes are made according to USM (United States Men's) sizing charts. The size tag on the pair and the sticker on the box represent sizes for MEN and WOMEN.
If you are unsure of your size for our shoes, each product page has a size chart and fit recommendations. For all our models, our standard recommendation is to choose half a size larger than the shoes you wear every day. The size tag on the pair and the sticker also represent the length in millimeters, so you can measure your foot while standing barefoot with your heel against a wall and then add about 5 mm to the measurement to get an indication of which size will fit you.
What is the average lifespan of a pair of shoes?
It depends on many factors, such as running style, weight, and the surface you run on. But generally, running shoes (not just Ulysses shoes) last up to 250-300 miles (approximately 402-482 km) depending on the model and materials used. For example, some of our models, such as the MAIKOH, are designed for high-performance trail running, so naturally, their soles are not as hard as those used on the HONI, and as a result, they will not have the same durability.
Are Ulysses shoes suitable for walking?
Ulysses running shoes are designed specifically for running, but they offer excellent comfort that lasts all day and can be used for walking, exploring, or mixed training. Contact us for advice on which shoe is best suited to your needs!
Do you also offer models for wide feet?
The last is measured in USM sizes and the width D is based on scientific statistical studies using 3D foot scanning, with the aim of better adapting to the ethnic groups of Europe and North America. Our last will ensure a precise fit, greater ground sensitivity, and reduced friction. The closest fit we can think of is between a HOKA Clifton and a BROOKS Adrenaline.
Are the soles of Ulysses running shoes slip-resistant?
The soles of Ulysses running shoes are NOT slip-resistant. That material is typically used in safety boots and will not work well in lightweight, responsive running shoes. The soles of our shoes are designed with a focus on traction, durability, and overall performance, but we do not currently offer a slip-resistant model.
Are the shoes machine washable?
Ulysses running shoes are not designed to be washed in the washing machine, as high temperatures and spinning cycles can damage the materials. The company therefore recommends thorough hand washing, following these steps:
1. Remove the laces and insoles, cleaning and drying them separately.
2. Brush the sole to remove mud and dirt.
3. Gently clean the upper with a damp cloth or brush.
4. Rinse with lukewarm water.
5. To better maintain the shape, fill the shoes with newspaper.
If machine washing is unavoidable, you must:
1. Remove the laces (and, optionally, the sock lining),
2. Use a small amount of detergent,
3. Wash only with cold water,
4. Allow to air dry, away from heat sources or direct light.
Built to follow you.
Is it possible to use a different insole?
Yes, we use premium quality partially recycled insoles, but the fit is wide enough to allow for different insoles to be used. Our models are used by many podiatrists and doctors who adapt our shoes with customized insoles.
